Built by a collector,
for collectors

Collection Vault started as a personal project to solve a simple problem: knowing what a collection is actually worth, without hours of manual research.

The problem with collecting

Collectors accumulate items over years. Cards picked up at garage sales, coins inherited from family, comics bought on a whim. After a while, the collection becomes a mystery — you know it has value, but you don't know how much, and you don't have a good way to find out without spending hours cross-referencing price guides and grading guides for every single item.

Spreadsheets don't cut it. They don't understand condition, can't look up market prices, and fall apart the moment you have more than a few hundred items. Professional appraisals are expensive and slow.

Collection Vault is the answer to that problem. Take a photo, let AI do the work.

Any physical collection

If it has condition, rarity, and market value, Collection Vault can help.

🃏

Trading Cards

Sports, Pokémon, MTG, non-sport. RC flags, grade sub-scores, eBay comps.

🪙

Coins

Mint marks, die varieties, circulation wear — all picked up from a photo.

📚

Comics

Key issues, first appearances, grade estimates from cover and spine condition.

🏆

Memorabilia

Signed items, game-used equipment, vintage toys, stamps, pins.

🎮

Vintage Games

Cartridges, sealed games, peripherals. Condition grading from photos.

Everything Else

If it has a market, AI can research it. General collectors welcome.

How the AI works

Collection Vault uses Claude (Anthropic) and GPT-4o (OpenAI) — the same multimodal AI models used in leading research and commercial tools. When you upload a photo, the model examines it for visible condition indicators: centering, surface wear, edge and corner sharpness, print defects, and any identifying details like card numbers, mint marks, or signatures.

The analysis returns a grade estimate, sub-scores for each condition dimension, an estimated market value range, and metadata like year, manufacturer, series, and rookie or autograph status. When both Claude and GPT-4o are configured, results are averaged into a consensus grade and value for higher confidence.

Live eBay listings for comparable items are pulled automatically to ground the AI estimate in real current market data.

AI-generated valuations are estimates for informational purposes only and do not constitute professional grading, certification, or appraisal. For insurance or sale purposes, use a certified grading service. Actual market values may vary.

Your collection is yours

Your uploaded images are sent to Anthropic and/or OpenAI solely for the purpose of the analysis you request. They are not used to train AI models, not shared with third parties beyond that analysis call, and not retained by those services beyond their standard API data handling policies.

Collection Vault uses a single strictly-necessary session cookie — no ad tracking, no third-party analytics cookies, no consent banner required. Fonts are self-hosted; no data is sent to Google Fonts.

Your vault data lives in your account. You can export it as CSV, PDF, or a full JSON archive at any time, and you can permanently delete your account and all associated data from your Profile page — no need to contact anyone.
